With several financial aid options available, a commitment to economic diversity, and a range of tools and resources, our financial aid representatives will make sure nothing stands in the way of your learning journey at Ontario College of Business & Technology.

For the duration and post completion of your studies at Ontario College of Business & Technology, our Financial Aid Officer will assist you in accessing various financial aid & options, help you pay for tuition and other expenses, and provide other support services as needed. It is our goal to make the financial aid application process simple and fruitful.

Our Financial Aid Team supports students to apply for, receive grants, loans, government funding, and other financial assistance programs listed below.

Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)

Financial assistance may be available for those who qualify. For more information, have a look at OSAP website or contact one of our Financial Aid Officers to get further details.

Monthly Payment Plan

We understand that managing educational expenses and living cost away from home can be very challenging.

Therefore, we offer our students a convenient monthly plan that suits their circumstances. Tuition and material costs are divided into easy monthly payments throughout the program duration during which time payments are interest free.

All students are automatically eligible for monthly payment plans without any credit check or co-signor needed.

Student Line of Credit

Ontario College of Business & Technology’s students can apply for private student loans from any financial institution. Please visit your financial institution to find out more information.

 

Second Career

Government programs such as Employment Ontario assist individuals who are unemployed or who are eligible to receive Employment Insurance (EI). Students may qualify for post-secondary education financing for up to $28,000 through Employment Ontario or other programs. Second Career funding may be used to pay for things like tuition, accommodation, materials and transport and is non-reimbursable.

 

Eligibility

  • You are eligible for Second Career Program financial aid if the following applies to you:
  • You have been laid off, on sick leave or maternity/ paternal leave; or your employment contract has ended;
  • You are unemployed or under-employed (less than 20 hours per week);
  • You are an Ontario resident;
  • You wish to take one of our diploma programs.

How to apply

Prepare your resume and keep records of your job searches and applications

  • Come for a pre-assessment session with one of our admissions advisors
  • Make an appointment with an employment advisor at a government agency to confirm that you qualify
  • Find a program meeting your educational needs
  • Prepare all required documents
  • Send your Second Career application off for approval
 

Lifelong Learning Plan

The Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP) allows you to withdraw amounts from your registered retirement savings plan (RRSPs) to finance full-time training or education for you or your spouse or common-law partner. You cannot participate in the LLP to finance your children's training or education, or the training or education of your spouse's or common-law partner's children.

Registered Education Savings Plan

A Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) is an investment vehicle available to parents in Canada to save for their children's post-secondary education. If your parents had contributed to a RESP in your name, you may use these funds to finance your studies.

Employer or Union Sponsored

Some employers and unions offer training programs for their employees through grants such as the Canada Ontario Job Grant. Find out with your employer or union if they offer education assistance or tuition reimbursement programs.

This is a gentle reminder to all students to frequently check your online message centre on the OSAP portal as well as any communications from the National Student Loan Service Centre. Please remember that you are responsible for staying up to date with your OSAP application
